Sigma 150 f/2.8 macro experience?

Postby marc on Tue Nov 08, 2005 12:21 pm

Anyone had any experience with the new Sigma 150 f/2.8 macro?
It says here: * Nikon mount of this lens is not equipped with an aperture ring, therefore, depending on the camera model some functions may not work.
Has anyone used it on a D70s?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm looking to purchase this lens.

Cheers
Marc

It seems to be just G-type lens which works the same way as kit lens - you set aperture on camera. Might be a problem for cameras not supporting G-type

I agree...it is probably only designed to work on a digital SLR..not a Film SLR (a-la G-series Nikon Lenses)

I'll have it at the mini-meet if you're planning to attend. I think it is the best macro lens going just now and also a very fine mid-range telephoto.
Here are some samples.

i've got the sigma 150, although its a canon mount.

I agree that its a nice lens, i was thinking for that a 135f2, but i thought the macro would be better as it can be used for macro use and a decent mid-telephot.
