Green highlights from Rawshooter

Green highlights from Rawshooter

Postby Alpha_7 on Tue Nov 08, 2005 8:32 pm

I've been noticing that with a lot of my photos that I convert from NEF to jpeg with rawshooter, if there is a bright red light, or sometimes a bright blue light, I ended with green patches, or green where the really bright "highlights" should be.

Could this be a white balance thing maybe ? I'm not sure why else it would change the colours so dramatically ?

(I only realised when I went to post an example, that it was the conversion to raw -> jpeg where it happens, which is ok.. I thought my camera has gone screwy... *sigh*)

Here is a example side by side of the weirdness. Click for a larger version. This is 100% crop.

Do you get this with different RAW converters? Does Capture work?

I just tried a few other programs, looks like the problem is isolated to Rawshooter, guess its time to find another batch convertor.

Craig,

I have been using RawShooter Essentials 2005 for 2 months, and now bought Premium 2006. I can't see your green picture ( pixspot is taking ages to download the file ), but I haven't noticed anything with my RAW files.

What is a NEF file?
My Canon produces .CR2 (RAW File) that RawShooter can change. I then convert to TIF or JPG but haven't experienced what your talking about.

P.S. Still can't see you pic from Pixspot.

Wocka, NEF is Nikons name for RAW. You're right, Pixspot is going dead slow, like it's down.
