Vic High Country - 10 pics.Back from my trip to the High Country, great trip but unfortunately a lot of inclement weather (sadly for photography). The mountain huts are great, as were Billy Goat Bluff and the Monument tracks.
Hope that these pics give some small idea of the trip. Hi Oneputt,
great part of the county over there. Even with the weather, you still got some great shots. #4 and #5 are beautiful, I like the fog in #5. The high country in #4 with the hut really shows how beautiful it can be up there. In the end, looks like you had a great time, so who cares about the weather anyway Cheers, Radar
Oneputt, great images. Every one of them shows a part of the high country that makes you want to be there.
Did you feel the difference in temperture form the Sunshine coast to the down there I'll do the trip one day. I am envious of you to say the least. Are you posting more? 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

Raskill I am still sorting through images. This was basically my first outing with the D2X and I have a lot to learn. One thing I have noticed that with the extrra weight of the D2X you need to ensure a steady hand. 12mp really shows up any faulty technique.
Temps. were actually not too bad. A few cool evenings but mainly warm and humid (thanks to the rain), just like home really "The good thing about meditation is that it makes doing nothing respectable"

I like 4 the most, it has a somewhat surreal quality to it
People who actively travel and seek adventure are great, one day i hope to do it more often, but right now an office job has got me glued into my seat. Keep on adventuring!
Oneputt, great shots and looks like a great trip. Did you do it all by car or walk some of it as well? Nice to see the old huts surviving, there was a policy about twenty years ago in NSW by the NPWS to remove them, which got accelerated by some crazies burning them down. The idea was to reduce usage. Sacreligous to our heritage, plus downright dangerous for people caught there expecting a hut. Nice to see your shots of them.
Beautiful 'why the hell can't I be here all the time type' country. Great shots Oneputt. Colour saturation is tremendous. I really like the front of the toyo with the long winding redge road in the background. I also love the misty hut scene. I'd love to be there! Keep 'em coming and make us all jealous!
cheers marco
Oneput, mate i would be happy with all these pics and they look great and well yes i spose D2X files will take longer to process which is something i will be faced with when my time to own one comes around. I will then have to try and not be so shutter happy like i am now and will not have pics up that nite of the event, anyhow you will get used to it and wlel done on the pics.
I am border hopping tomorrow to Dunkeld, Hamilton end of the Grampians for some horse racing not that i am a fan but one of the builders i i deliver too is putting on a show so yeh will go along with my camera. Some very nice pictures. For some reason #9 grabs me. It is just very different to what you would expect. Maybe it was becasue I was scrolling down the screen and saw the bush then suddenly this 4WD jumped out at me!
Well done. Framing works well also. Mal
I've got a camera, it's black. I've got some lens, they are black as well.
I absolutely love the 2nd last pic of the 4WD.
With your permission can I add a link to it from another forum I am in? I am sure some would love to see it. "If your pictures aren't good enough, you're probably not close enough." Robert Capa.

G'day mate,
Stunning scenery, particularly enjoyed the misty ones with the low cloud... Particularly enjoyed "Low Clouds - not mist" and "Cloud aqround Craigs Hut", gives me a feeling of being there, great atmosphere... Aka Andrew
You ruined the best shot by sticking a bluddy Toyota in it
Some nice photos in there, but pity about the inclement weather. Looking forward to seeing some more ... Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes. http://www.dionm.net/
hi Oneputt,
great pictures. I like the pictures taken in the fog. I'm allways waiting for a good opportunity to take pictures during fog, but I haven't seen the right occasion yet. p.s.: the numberplate is great
I'd love to see my new Prado in that shot "If your pictures aren't good enough, you're probably not close enough." Robert Capa.
