Benro Tripod Stats

Postby Alpha_7 on Mon Nov 14, 2005 1:43 pm

The Benro site isn't what you would call user friendly so I decided to collate all the available information into a table to make it easier to compare the various tripods and chose the right one for the job. While it doesn't replace playing with one in the flesh, it does give you all the data at your finger tips.

I've tried to keep it all accurate but please point out any typo's.

Good work Craig!

Just to be clear, those dimensions are in centimetres and the weights in kilograms?

I would write "Std Height" as "Max height without extending column", and
"Full Extension" as "Max height with centre column"...

Perfect!

Except that "splade" is spelt "splayed" (it's the past tense of the verb "splay").
"Splade" makes me think of eating utensils (although apparently that's spelt "Splayd"!). ;)

Great work Alpha_7

I have one small suggestion, perhaps you could add another column for the Gitzo model equivalent. :)

Only a suggestion.

Hmmm, I'll consider it but not today (I've been procrasinating enough) but it is a good suggestion.

It's a work in progress, so yes Monopods are on the way.

Couldn't this be added to the wiki for a collaborative update effort? It also means the data isn't trapped in an image.

I can make the Spreadsheets available to download (if someone will host them), I only used images to make it easy for people to check the stats easily. But if people are happy to add it to the wiki, I'd be more then happy to pass on the files.

A good source of Benro information (and Benro equipment, of course) is Photopal. I recently bought a KB-2 from them.

Cheers
Steffen.

That site is certainly easier to browse then Benro's.
