6 hours without my camera already... Another 240-300 to go...
I dropped off my D70 to Maxwells today for a warranty repair and service... They promised faithfully that I would get it back before I leave for the UK...
Not sure what I'm gonna do in the coming 2 weeks... I might be forced to post photos from my camera phone...
Maybe it'll give me time to read some photography books
Missing it already!!!

Whats wrong with it, or is it just mainly going for a service and if they find anything it will be repaired?

My on-board flash stopped functioning in March, but I've been hanging on until the end of the warranty period... hopefully they'll give it a good clean and calibrate while it's there... My warranty runs out while I'm on holiday, so I've really left it until the last minute...

I think that there's a DSLRUsers D70 convention happening in Maxwell's as we speak. Both of ours went in on Chewsday, so we'll be really pissed off if your's is ready before our's, John.

Suprised I didn't bump into either of you. I picked mine up from Maxwell on the same day.
If I'm alone in a forest and my wife is not around to hear what I say, am I still wrong ??

Leek if yours doesn't come back you can have mine for your holiday. I've been without mine for so long that I won't miss it for another couple of months!

Maxwell will soon have a special section to welcome all DSLRUser.net members for special treatment of the D70 or other cam but this door will take more longer than other

Thaddeus,
Which door did you drop your D70 for service? I believed you checked it in with the special privileged door for the DSLRUSERS.net.

Wow!! Thanks... This is now one of 3 similar offers I've had - what a generous place this is!!! Maxwells have promised not to take my camera to bits unless they can finish it in time, so hopefully all will be OK... thaddeus wrote:Yes, I have seen the plans! How very apt...

Gee, these Nikons must be reliable, exchanging stories about dropping them off for repairs and all
Seriously, hope you do get your camera back. Me I'd be paranoid about dropping it off before going away on holidays.
Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes. http://www.dionm.net/

I still own two Alfa Romeos, so this sort of thing is nothing new to me. It's a preventative maintenance kind of thing, and like all fine machinery, it will be still working just perfectly in another tefh ujhdbgfweyfo hbdfgin isdgosdfg isdfgsdfhg.

Might be a good time to go through the archives, find some forgotten treasures and do some PP. If your anything like me you shoot faster then your can process your shots, so there is always work that could be done in the downtime I hope it's back before your UK trip!
