I'm more likely to be finishing the day at 5:00am. I'm interested to hear what the 'never repeated' price for the 80-400 is. I'll be looking for this lens sometime next year... maybe It's time to look at replacing the 70-300G. Brad

Brad, It's the only time you get into the mini meet tomorrow morning, price will be announced between 11:00 -12:00, and that's! all transaction has to be completed at sharp 12:00. Otherwise they will go back to normal pricing. Birddog114

Unlike someone very close to you Gary [/quote] Actually, I didn't get to bed until 4:15 this morning myself. I was trying to figure out some issues on a new server that I'm experimenting with. g.

Due to cricket coaching committments tomorrow morning, I'll be unable to attend the MM. I sent a PM to Birddog on Tuesday to inform him, but I'm not sure if there's anyone else involved in organising this event. Just in case there is, I thought I should post this message.
On the off chance that the game is rained out (looking out my window right now, this looks a possibility), is it still okay for me to turn up? I completely understand if it causes too big a logistical headache. I hope that everyone attending tomorrow's meeting has an absolute blast (I'm jealous as hell) and I look forward to meeting you soon. Andrew PS. Is there anyone who'd be interested in catching up after the mini meet to share their wisdom with a newbie like me? I especially need some guidance on the work flow side of things, but also have a few questions specifc to the D70.
ABG,
Hope you can make to the mini meet next time! As soon as I got your withdrawal, I have one on waiting list to fill up the list. We sometime do some night shooting but not this week + we ran out of places, locations to do night shooting around the city atm. Birddog114

Ooooh boy!!! I wish I could have been there.... What's another word for "thesaurus"?
Thanks for a great meet, Thanh, it really is like an extended family meeting the guys and gals of this great forum. Lens lust was very noticeable and the meet 'specials' spectacular! Unfortunately not enough cash means keep saving and lusting.

OMG!!! Did anyone buy me a xmas present! Those are TRUE BARGAINS!!!!! LUST LUST! How do you do it! New page

Another great meet. The hospitality of M/Ms Birddog was wonderful - one always feels so welcome and at home.
Today Leigh had no shocks for the assembly but another Stark had the congregation in hysterics with HIS new toy - the chicken you can strangle Killa was in port - Matt.K has put on weight - I am sure Joet had not moved from his chair from the last time I was there, weeks ago. The HOFF did some freelance modelling and did not beat me up, lust was affecting Tim, Wendell looked as he always does, worried and the ladies looked as wonderful as ever. A great way to spend some hours on a Saturday Chris

Wish I could have been there Chris - thanks for setting the scene Sounds typical of a great meet! Geoff

Thanks so much to Thanh and everyone else for allowing me to come to the mini meet and join your awesome group. It is so nice to be so welcomed by a great group of people, who share the same passion as me!! Thanks also, to the ladies for the lovely cakes and the DELICIOUS beef noodles!! Looking forward to the next event already!!

Thanks Thanh, Tran and all concerned for another wonderful meet. It was great to get back there, see familiar faces and meet some new ones while being fed, watered and inspired. Forgive me, for I have sinned... I have fallen victim to tripod and ballhead lust!
Looking forward to seeing you all again soon. Wish I could make it to the Xmas dinner but once again I'll be away. Will be there in spirit. Gary, did you and Leigh get the ink feeder happening??
We were there till around a quarter past six-ish... Dad doing all the work because I'd given up on it of course... and there's colour coming out... but only on the nozzle checks.

Well, everytime I go to a mini meet I end up buying something, either on the day or soon after. Well now I have one of those darn chickens. Thanks for that Gary. Actually it's hilarious.
Thanks to all for contributing to another great mini meet. Doug C.

Hi all, our (nito and mrs nito) first mini-meeting was truely exceptional and a very positive experience. Its great to finally connect the text with faces and extend the friendly nature of this form to the physical world.
Mrs nito was very impressed by all the members present and really enjoyed her time there. She liked Chris's D2Hs. We both liked the clucking chicken that Lee brought along. There will be several of those for people's christmas gifts! Special thanks to birddog and his wonderful wife for the warm welcome. This is the start of many mini-meets for us. Thanks and will see you again!
You've seen reference to this in a few posts on this thread. Although it wasn't a duck, stubbsy fell in love with it, as can be seen here. I'm sure there'll be one under his tree for Christmas: Last edited by the foto fanatic on Sun Nov 27, 2005 9:39 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Thanks to Birdy and Tran for their enormous generosity. This was my first MM as you know, but I had a great time, and also managed to lighten my wallet considerably. Thanks to everyone who was there for making me feel so welcome. TFF (Trevor)

I'm glad the weather didn't put a dampner on the fun and very sorry to have missed it. I have however sucessfully completed all Xmas shopping in one day (other then camera gear (leave the best till last)). Most intrigued by the chicken, I hope it makes a repeat visit to the next event.
I have to repeat what I said in Matt's self portrait thread, he really does make an interesting model.
MattK I really like your B&W here, but... the outline of his head just seems a little odd ? not sure.. if it's because of the partial crop, or just how dark it is around the edge.. (oh love the Brollie is it ? in the background.. very nice) adds just enough interest while not detracting from the main subject.
Thankyou Thanh and Tran, Chrissyne and all the other wonderful people for the comraderie and the delectable treats!
Great to see new faces.
Matt - I like this photo of you
Bloody awful? No!! Geoff

You got that right sirhc55, she is the better and prettier half. As for the shot, its down the the T. She loves coffee and as you can tell, needed coffee on that cold wet morning.
Great Not only did that $@#%$$ thing drive me nuts. When I pick it up to remove its battery you take a pic of it. Sheeesh. Better not be one under my tree or it will have to keep company with the all singing, all dancing santa claus I got from my work "secret santa" last year Oh, the colour balance is out - I'm not that jaundiced. That doesn't explain why the chicken had a shocked expression on her face. Steve.

Birddog why didn't anyone tell me to stay for the special price offer? $1100 for the 85 f1.4 is simply delectable
You should re-read this thread before you come. Not my fault! Special price is only revealed at the last minutes, so any member leave early are the bonuses for others. Birddog114
