And tomorrow is national Be Kind To Turkeys Day.
So, no nasty Sigma comments for another 24 hours. g.

In all seriousness, Thanksgiving is a very important day to US citizens, and I like to use the day to take a few moments and reflect upon what is really important, and to consider how fortunate I am in my life and times.

I like the idea of thanksgiving day, one which is non-religious and universal. Plus it is a public holiday - in fact a four day weekend I believe - and that sounds like a top idea.
Tough day for the turkeys, however. Greg - - - - D200 etc

Not if you work in the retail sales side of things. The Firday after Thanksgiving is the biggest shopping day of the year in the USofA. It's the official start of the Christmas selling "season" over there, and the shops are verily packed with credit cards draging their owners around looking for things to be wasted on. And a person more cynical than I (if such a beast exists) migh ask why do you think that Microsoft released the new X-Box just one day before Thanksgiving? g.

Yes, and on other side of many Customer Service Counters, you'll spot a long queue of people with their returning merchandises after the holidays. Birddog114

Thanh,
Have you ever been into a Fry's on a December 26? The abnormally long checkout queue snakes throughout the entire store! And the returns queue, normally quite long, ties up half the parking lot! g.

Well, of course, the festival does have its foundations in the religious life of the Pilgrim Fathers but why take issue:
