I was playing with a D2x last night at schoolies for a while, needless to say I was reluctant to go back to my D70.

Happy birthday and I hate you. :P

Woah, so you outgrew your D70 in just 1 year John! :) Bypassed the D200 completely and just headed straight for the top shelf model.

Happy B'day buddy, yours is merely 1 day after my mum's.

Enjoy your new toy - it'll probably come with a need for larger CF cards and greater HD storage, but no doubt we'll look forward to seeing more/better/faster/larger images from you.

Thanks All, i am certain i will enjoy it and had a lil play till 2am, si i still have to sort things out and maybe look at firmware but will sort it out later at some stage. I will give it a test run today and see what i can get out of it without getting to bigged down too much with settings so will try my normal settings for the bikes and see how it goes.

Birdy Lisa feeling left out, as usual but oh well you get that, no black eyes yet but give it time.
Ok off to the track soon to try my new baby.
Thanks

Hey John.

Happy birthday mate. The D2x is only a slight difference to the old Fuji you had :D You've certainly improved your shots and I look forward to seeing what you can do with this new toy.

Cheers,
Owen.

John

Congratualtions on both the birthday and the exceptional present. Looking at how the quality of your work has improved over the last 12 months I'm expecting the D2x will sing in your hands when at the track. Can't wait to see what you capture once you've mastered the beast.

Hi Again, well what a camera but i think it could be user error today not happy with my shots at all, got a few keepers but will go through them later, the bloody grass is high out there and no good so yeh. Anyhow will take some sorting out trying to get it to focus right as i have alot that are OUF as i shot in jpeg as well and with only the D2x, so i just updated formware so will have to look at settings, will post a few when i get a chance.

Used the highspeed crop and wow like a machine gun, but also smaller file size just over 2.5 meg turn highspedd crop off and file size just over 3 meg.

Ok you people with D2x already how about some rough setting to start with, give us an idea so i can work out where i am going wrong.

Happy birthday BBJ. Seeing as your not happy with your shots, I'll generously offer to take your sub-standard prezzie off your hands

By the way, what track were you at today and what was on? I'd love to see some of the shots that you are happy with.

A belated Happy Birthday, Big John! I was about to ask if it was a milestone, but it obviously is - 'cos you scored a D2x!!

You'll have it up and running in no time, I'm sure.

Hope you enjoy your new toy.

Would be interested in your comments on how it handles compared to the D70.
