Wildlife Photog of the year 2005Hi,
The 2005 Wildlife Photographer of the Year is being exhibited at the Australian Museum in Sydney. That is the one from the BBC Wildlife mag. It is on right now till March 19. Australian Museum This year's winners I have recently checked out the 2004 exhibition when it was in Newcastle. It takes time of those things to get to us If anything like the 2004 exhibition, it is great if you like wildlife/landscapes and just great photogs. I'll visit when I get to a mini-meet. Cheers, radar

Missed it! Bugger I was working at the Museum last week.
This kid not only get the camera AND "that" lens BUT also a trip to Finland!!!!! edit: Just read it again.... He lives in Finland.... Still the best thing my Dad ever gave me was a Bike Mal
I've got a camera, it's black. I've got some lens, they are black as well.
Finland is where he lives so at least he didn't have to travel far to get his winning photos Cheers, radar
There's a song in that. "Finland, Finland, Finland. The country where I quite want to be." Nikon D7000
A bit of a bump on this one,
I visited the exhibition on Saturday morning. It is certainly worth the visit for those that are interested in wildlife photography. There are some truly amazing photographs. Nothing compares to seeing them "in person". Entry fee to the Australian museum is $10, but also lots of other things to see as well. Looking at the winning entries this year, there is certainly a higher percentage of digital images that are winners. Last year, probably about 30% digital, this year, probably 60-70% digital. Quite a number of D70's as well. See start of thread for info on exhibition times and competition details. Cheers, André Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications, offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution. Ansel Adams

"..pony trekking or camping, or just watching TV!" I'm pleased to see someone else can't hear the word "Finland" without smiling! Awesome exhibition. Won't hold my breath to see this up here.. Simon

Giving a bump to this one, it is now taking place closer to home. The exhibition is on at the Newcastle Library - Lovett Gallery till Aug 5th. So if you are in the region, it is well worth it. I saw it in Sydney but I'll go again.
