Yes, similar products are selling in Australia.
But what are you going to do with it? building NAS/ SAN? with your server?

I got a netgear sc101

http://www.netgear.com/products/details/SC101.php

I have two 200 gb drives in it and they are mirrored so if one fails i have a backup of my backup.

I have this connected to a router and i connect to it wirelessly.

Works quite well for the $180 it set me back.

I posted the SC-101 here few times, but shutterbug is looking for something bigger than that as 10 or 12 drives, the SC-101 is cost only $150.00 in Sydney and can only takes two drives maximum.

I try to find for him a NAS or SAN with terrabyte capacity.

Probably would have cost me that much in postage

If you are looking for actual SAN gear Greys generally have secondhand stuff going quite cheap.

I belive that you can have as many of these as you can connect to your network.....

They are really simple to setup too.

But if you want more than two drives then it is probably worth going for something else

Olrac,

I also just got a SC101 and have a 250gb and a 200gb in it (not mirored).

How do you find the performance? I also notice that it get very warm. Have you had any problems with this?

Cheers
Dean

Because I have the disks mirrored, I have noticed it is allot slower to write to.

Other than that it is very good as for heat, it sits under a table out of the way so the only thing i really notice is the sound of the HD's working.

That said it may get effing hot.

Dean,
Don't worry about the heat, it's normal, I installed few of them to my customers and they are fine with the heat you have mentioned.
