Birdy, I am home... :)

What I meant is.. with so many photographers there, I don't think we need to designate an official photographer..

Nito, it's a breeze from there, straight down the freeway, Harbour Tunnel, M5 then get off at King George Road and turn left to Hurstville, one road! (albeit a very, very busy one at 6pm Friday)

That's the way I plan to go. I need to keep a very close watch for the King Georges Road exit, otherwise I'll end up at my mother's house in Albury. :?

Glen and Potatis, Thats the road I intend to take. Just dont like the one way streets of hurtsville. Or the killer M5 East, M5 traffic at peak hour. One wrong turn and I'm in bexley or rockdale.

Doug, we will expect the call from Albury. Leave your mobile number in case you win anything. :D Nito, once you take the left onto King Georges Rd, it is left on some big road (signposted "Hurstville") up to Hurstville then right into the road the restuarant is in. As soon as you turn into that road look for parking, if unsuccesful I would take the next turn on the left on it for parking because if you go to the restuarant door it is all "no parking" and one way as you describe. I am sure you will be right.

I'm going to chance the train. Took a cab to the AW Friday, slow as a wet week. According to the web site, the train should only take 25 mins from Martin Place.

This assumes that

a. I can find Martin Place Station
b. I get on the right train
c. the trains aren't as stuffed up as indicated in the media
d. I get on the right train
e. I get off at Hurstville station
f. I can find my way out of Hurstville station
g. I can find a bottle shop in Hurstville
h. I can locate the restaurant

Thanks Glen, but it shouldn't be a problem. I have cab charges if I want, but I really think the train will be quicker.

Might use the cabcharge on the way home Greg, a bit friendlier than late night rail  Hopefully someone will be going past your hotel, the city I assume?

And it ignores when that 25 minutes starts from.

I'd offer a ride but Leigh's already spoken for the other seat.

For those heading on the dreaded M5, the current state of traffic is that it's a gawdawful mess, and it'll probably be quicker to travel via LA.

Geez, I just love the way the RTA has the ability to totally screw up everything it touches! Their current road designs are dragging us into the 1980s.

Bloody greedy morons that they are!

LA??
We plan on going round the domestic and International Airports and into Hurstville that way...

Perhaps I should ad a NAVMAN to my Chrissy lust list? :)

I just came back from uni and bypassed the M5 East, it was in severe need of some Metamucil. ;) If you're coming from over the bridge you can go around the airport and straight up Forrest Road to Hurstville. Probably the best way. If that's also chockers, you can continue on Southern Cross Drive past the M5 East onramp, down to Brighton-Le-Sands (crank up your sik subwoofers bro ;)) and up through Rockdale to Forrest Rd. Have a great trip! :)

I think this is where I point out that not only does Newcastle have no major traffic congestion - it has no toll roads and takes 30 minutes to get from one side of the city to the other

Of course it also lacks a dSLR users dinner so I'm in Sydney tonight.
