G'day all. I'm from Adelaide, SA and into mainly landscapes but also cityscapes, wildlife and a bit of everything else.
Im a Canon shooter (boo, hiss), and my kit includes a 300D, EF-S 10-22, Sigma 120-300 F2.8 EX, EF-S 18-55 and a EF 55-200, mafrotto tri and monopods and a lowepro offroad bag.
This is a great forum you got here.

Welcome. Don't worry about being a canon type. The site will help you with your struggle and you'll soon be able to get rid of the canon and get a real camera :D :D

It's a great site, with loads of knowledge, so welcome aboard!

The 10-22 is a very very good lens, and boy does it go wide! Its my most used lens. If you have a Canon with an EF-S mount, shoot landscape or architecture and dont intend up upgrading to a full frame then go out and buy it, buy it now! There are great prices on it off Ebay from hong kong.

I only got the Sigma 120-300 F2.8 the other day and havent had the time or an opportunity to use it. Its killing me! I was not happy at all with Canons EF55-200mm lens. Too slow and average quality, but what do you expect for $400?

The weather looks good for the weekend, so I hope for your sake you get the time and opportunity to use your brand spanking new lens. If you do get the opportunity, look forward to seeing some of the first shots.

Should you not have a website to upload to, this one is for free, provided by one of our members, but does have some limitations which are explained during the process:

Howdy fellow Farmers Union Iced Coffee and or Coopers drinker. (I hope!) 8)

That 120-300 is supposed to be very nice!

Hope to see you at the next mini-meet, although this forum sections seems very quiet these days. :(

G'day Schniff,

Welcome. This is a very informative forum and the people are always very helpful. Even to those Canon users out there like yourself :-)

I look forward to catching with you soon up and going shooting with you a lot more. Something tells me I'll catch up with you sooner rather than later.

Cheers,

Mick.

Unfortunately due to a combination of things I wont be able to get a chance to use the big lens for at least a couple of weeks, but rest assured I will put pics up once I do!

I have a page here:

Comments, criticism and abuse all welcome.

welcome Schniff
I just had a brief look at your page - (I'm still a dial up dinosaur) - some amazing shots that I can only aspire to achieve way down the line. Hope that this Adelaide group can get together at some stage to help out beginners like me - quite daunting gauging by the quality of your work but we all have to start somewhere!
thanks for posting.
cheers

Hi Schniff,
Good to see another SA member. Nice work on your portfolio!
Rookie - we have had plenty of get togethers but unfortunately it seems to be the same group going. (no offence meant to the same group though! )
