Hi...

I just signed up here, after finally making the decision to get a dslr, after becoming sick of the limitations of my P&S. So, hi to you all :)
I have acutually been reading these forums for a few weeks and have learnt alot already, although I haven't been able to put any of it into practice without a camera. I am a good friend of Pippin88's and have in fact already been to a mini meet with him back in march.
I have just finished my first year of uni, studying electrical engineering at unsw, so I now have lots of free time for photography... until march :)
So now I just have to find a cheap place to get a D70s and I'll be shooting away.
Should I post a couple of my favorite photos taken with the P&S in the image critiques section?

Hi Jack,

Welcome to the forum, as you know we're a friendly bunch in here.

What type of camera did you buy?

Thanks for 'de-cloaking,' to steal a Star Trek term. Welcome to the forum, even if you have been around for a while. Congrats on finishing your first year of Uni. It only gets harder you know :)

Certainly post some images regardless of what type of camera you have used after all, this is a photography forum.
Steve.

Welcome Jack.

There's a really good sticky at top of "Image Reviews and Critiques" that tells you how to post pics if you need some help. (Courtesy of Stubbsy)

And another good sticky from Leek about posting thumbnails that point off to larger pics there as well.

Let's see some.

Tony, I haven't actually bought a camera yet, but I have decided on a D70s + 18-70mm lens. I will hopefully be getting it next week, I just need to find a place to buy one cheaply.

Thanks for all your welcomes, I have put up an image here http://www.dslrusers.net/viewtopic.php?p=145517 :)

G'day Jack, welcome to the forums. I'm sure having lurked in recent past you'll know who's who and what's what. Wait for the inevitable after xmas sales, you might find a D70s kit for a decent price. Actually - if you don't mind used, I recall Sheetshooter on our forums is selling his hardly used D70s, going the way of Xerox.

I'm sure entering the DSLR world will entail an enjoyable re-learning of photography again.
