Just loved the shape of this tree.I think the B&W conversion helps this image.
Your thoughts please??? Click on thumb for lager image Cheers Ray >> All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism<<
Good consistent exposure, good subject and looks great in B&W.
However i would have preferred a tighter crops to highlight the subject (the tree) more. But that's my opinion. Snap Happy!! Steve.
Love the shot Ray, the B&W is definitely a winner.
I don't entirely agree with Killa about cropping - the total image proportion is good I think, and cropping will either change that and make the image squarer, or you will have to lose some foreground. How would the shot look if you applied the digital equivalent of a red filter before making the BW conversion? cheers Greg
Ray,
Great shot btw, the B&W make it more attractive. I agreed with GregB. The Red filter will make it look more marvellous. But just try. Birddog114

Great shot.
For me the composition works very well. I think the surrounding trees/shrubs make good natural frame. A red filter would darken the sky which would enhance this shot even more. IMHO the picture would look even better if the shrub/tree in the middle wasn't there, showing more of the trunk. Guess the only solution would be to resort to chainsaw... Well done! Congrats.
Thanks all
I’m going to have a play with it today see if I can pull a bit more detail out of the image Flyer, I walked around to see if I could get the trunk but no go!! The thought of chainsaws & excavators cross my mind to Cheers Ray >> All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism<<
MineIt was my opinion and i'm sticking to it. It's what i like.
