I'm going for one that Gerard posted late last week.

From this thread this image presents a different perspective of an activity that we'd probaly all like to do once in our lives. Good colour, great composition, and, well, I like it.

That's a wicked shot - very top gun

Going up in a small plane is definitely on my to-do list... An F-16 would be awesome, but I doubt "my mate who has a helicopter licence" has enough contacts to get THAT!!

A worthy winner and i really like this photo. I imagine there are plenty of DSLRusers members envious of the opportunity to do something like that, myself included.

Great work Gerard - what a thrill it must have been. Up at that height with your beloved camera! Scary and awesome at the same time . The closest thing I have done to that was jumping out of a plane sky diving - I'd do it again tomorrow if I could! Well done and great choice Mr Stark (senior).

Have to agree with everyone else, great shot!!! I missed the series, but really like this one anyways! I wouldn't have looked that cool calm and collected, I'd be covered in my own vomit and screaming for the pilot to land by that stage!

Thank you all for your nice words. Yes, it is fun, the only trouble being you sort of get addicted to these things. Now I would like to use a 10.5 fish eye instead of the Sigma 12-24, and try different angles. I first thought the location would not be good ( too much of the same colours) but it turned out very good and will be going back there next time.

Two 10.5FE with two Nikon cameras, mounted on the airframe and do the streography.
This should be nice!!!!!!!!

This is a good idea! I will talk to the owner of the airplane and see whether I can make up some brackets to mount the cameras.
