Am I seeing things ?

I just bought a new monitor and I noticed that there is a "stone effect" around the DSLr logo on the top of the page. Never saw it on my old monitor!

Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes.

when i look real hard i see a stone like marble effect.. bit like the textured grain on the D70 body

Dion. It's there - most noticeable if you're on an LCD or an over bright CRT.
