DK-17M manifier on D70

Postby christiand on Mon Dec 19, 2005 2:33 pm

Hi all,

I have just received the Nikon DK-17M based magnifier kit
for the Nikon D70 viewfinder.
I'm really pleased with the product and all fits together without
any modifications.
You can view the product at this URL:

Yes, but how much does it cost in total? I worked it out before but did not justify the cost of the whole set for the D70, so I called it off.

Hi Thanh,

it cost me AUD 131.25
Yes it is not cheap but I like the result.
There are threads on the net that describe how to modify the square
eye piece adapter to directly accommodate the DK17M.
The DK17M also sits closer to the view finder if no adapter (MEA-17M)
is used and that may be more useful for people wearing glasses.
I wear glasses and am still happy with the kit.
The magnification is what counts for me.

Thanks CD,
I intended to bring them in for members at similar cost, but with that price, none of member is interested. So I gave up. It's closed to the DR-5 angle viewfinder.

BTW, the DK21M for the D200 is also suitable for the D70/ 70s.
I'm waiting for stock, same magnifying level as the DK-17M, cost 2/3 or 1/2 of your buying price.
Price is TBA.

Thanks,

please keep us up to date.
I'm sure that there are dslrusers who would like a large viewfinder image.

Interesting, tell us more about how to fit the DK21M to a D70.

Cheers,

The DK-21M will fit your D70 right out of the box.

My favorite dealer near my home tells me the US price will be about $24.95.

THe DK-17M and 2370 adapter are about $40 here.
