Any recommendations?

Love my Optech strap, directly from Birddog with the D70 logo. Not sure if he is getting new ones with the dslr logos, but I'm sure he'll let us know.

As an example, I had my D70 "hanging" off my neck for about 5-6 hours a day for two weeks while in Africa, not a problem.

Fair enough, but the Optech strap is really comfortable, regardless of logo. It should be easily scrapped off, looking at mine. Not sure if it is compatible with the D200 , send it over and I'll test it.

Lowepro make some good straps...nothing fancy, but very usable.

Optech is most certainly the way to go. Using the normal Nikon strap on my D1 gave me pins and needles within a half hour. The Optech on the D2Hs, and being of neoprene construction, enables me to carry the camera without any pain at all

I use Op/Tech straps on almost all my gear. I have the short attachment straps on all of them (these can be joined together and coiled around your wrist, looped through a belt, etc) and have a couple of the neoprene shoulder straps that connect to the attachment straps.

There are a number of options. For attachment straps:

• 3/8" straps - a strap of narrow webbing that attaches in the same way as a normal shoulder strap
• Pro Loop straps - a thinner attachment loop that is very flexible (on many cameras this means you're not fighting to get the strap out of the way when shooting in portrait mode, etc)

I have a mixture of these straps (they use the same connectors to the shoulder straps).
For shoulder straps:

• Classic - a stretchy neoprene strap. Very comfortable around the neck for long periods, but if used over your shoulder can slide off if you're not careful.
• Pro - a wider strap, with one side more "grippy" and the strap curved to mold to the contours of a shoulder better.

By default these straps come with no fancy insignia (other than "Op/Tech USA" on some products) on them. Highly recommended! I bought mine via B&H, although the Op/Tech site gives you more detail about them.

Don't bother looking at their "E-Z Comfort" or "Fashion" straps: they're not the same thing (although I think the "Fashion 3/8" is compatible).

I know a number of photographers that use duct tape, gaffa tape or electrical tape on a lot of their gear. Including on their bodies to cover any distinguishing featues (ie Nikon, Canon, D70). I personaly don't like getting sticky stuff on my gear, although I accidently got my body with SPF 15+ sunscreen.

I don't know what are the main purposes for using those tapes!

I use only Domke straps, bags, and vests. They are quite functional and wear like iron. I have a 15 year old F-803 satchel that still looks great after a number of times around the world, kinda like Birdy's flightsuit.

The optech is very comfortable, but it still slides off.
