What is the purpose of online Track and Trace

Postby DionM on Tue Dec 20, 2005 8:13 am

To me it seems to be just to taunt you!

In the olden days (before the Internet  ) when a package was coming you used to sit and imagine where it would be - on a plane perhaps, maybe on the delivery truck today. You used to think it was close, and making its way ever closer to you.

Now track and trace gives you the cold reality - no its still sitting in a depot on the other side of the country, where it has been for the last 12 hours :?

The ability to know where it really is spoils all the fun

(Waiting for my latest lust purchase to arrive - Canon 400 5.6L).

Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes.

I believe you order from the US and shipped by "snail" UPS (Expedite)
If it's the case then you may not have it by Xmas.

His Canon is going to drop onto a deserted island with all but the most courageous Tom Hanks obsessive fan who will now have a new friend besides Wilson the ball... it's Canon - the guy with the really long snout!

Well my toy arrived yesterday, courtesy of AaE. They had a plane breakdown, so it was late.

No choice. Besides, you would have seen it was Canon gear and broken it on me

Oh ... and the fact *** have lost my packages before

Obviously an Airbus. They regularly require a reboot.

Of the whole plane!

Anybody would think they were running Windows.
