Ok,

I have discovered the answer to my problems.

After loading Capture 4.4 when I go "save as" JPG the compression was defaulted as blank so it probably compress the JPG image to the maximum level.

After changeing this setting every thig is back to being rosy again :D :D :D

Glad you discovered and solved that issue quickly Andrew. It's been reported at that other forum, oversensationalised as the "giant software bug with 4.4" OMG run for teh hills, the sky is falling!!!!1ONE

What worries me more than the ex-treme posterisation are those bright blue blotches in the sky. Where do those come from?

Cheers
Steffen.

Oh well I'll learn from my oversite for this problem.

It's funny that every time I upgrade Nikon Capture, a setting always manages to change itself
