Autostich pano s/w (demo s/w)Wow, this s/w is amazing... I think I found it from a posting here
I just happened to have a couple of shots that were taken side by side a while ago, no thought nor intention of them being used for pano's at all when I took them, they just happened to be near each other... Different focus points, used a circ-polariser, just standing on a rock and snapped a couple off etc... Demo s/w but wow (altho when using two 35Mb tiff files the binary was consuming over 800Mb of memory at one stage! Dunno how much was resident in RAM but phew...) Seems to only work on jepgs tho, if I tried TIFF files, it'd tell me to use multiple files??? Just chucked em at autostich and hey presto, a panarama... Ya gotta try it... Two REALLY quick hacks: http://www.pixspot.com/displayimage.php?album=36&pos=0 http://www.pixspot.com/displayimage.php?album=36&pos=1 Cheers, Mudder
nice results... well done...
whilst you are experimenting... give panorama factory a go.... i noticed slight overlap in the valley picture and it should be blended in PF... great work and look forward to seeing more. cheers http://www.markcrossphotography.com - A camera, glass, and some light.
Yep, Panorama Factory and followed up in PSCS is the best way to go, but Autostitch does a good job too by the looks.
nice panos especially saying that you didn't even set out to make them taht way Steve.

G'day,
Just an update from the developer of Autostitch: ***** Andrew, Thanks for the feedback and bug reports! Still no commercial version as yet, but TIFF support is the kind of thing that will definitely appear in that. There should be a new demo release before the end of the year, but it won't be much different - it will just add a JPEG quality option and slightly improved memory management (I'm kinda busy right now working on my PhD thesis). Cheers- Matt. ***** Will have to keep my eyes peeled for that! Just thought it may be of interest... Cheers, Mudder Aka Andrew
G'day,
Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but I'm amazed by this demo autostich software, no input, just point it at the files... Clunkity, clunk then pano... Just anudder quick hack, no touch-ups at all (slight sharpen tho on the original)... Bit of distrortion on what shoudl be straight lines (like the rails themselves) but couldn't setup my tight-arse, cheapo tripod to be level thru the pan... Hmmm, maybe that's one of the reasons that good tripods are uhmm, well, good? http://www.pixspot.com/displayimage.php?album=36&pos=0 Cheers, Mudder PS. Once I down-sized the image, wow... Hacked all the *almost* horizontal lines on the railway station siding... Orig size OK on both orig and pano... Dunno why... Only happened after down-sizing the res... Aka Andrew
G'day,
Last one I promise!!! This one's for Matt, "Neat and in the middle"... http://www.pixspot.com/displayimage.php ... at=0&pos=0 Cheers, Mudder Aka Andrew
