Interesting remote trigger

Postby mikephotog on Thu Jan 05, 2006 4:37 pm

I'm considering this unit to shoot time lapse with my D70. Already have the Nikon IR remote that is needed in conjunction with this unit.
Price from the UK is A$60.

I don't get what this unit does differently to the IR shutter release you get with the standard remote. Can you please educate me?

Thanks

with the mll3, everytime you want a shot, you press the button and get a shot,

It would appear that with this gizmo, you tell it that (for instance) you want a shot every 1 minute. then you walk away and the thing goes to work for you.

Not sure if you aware that you can do this with a laptop computer and NIKON Capture. The software has all the tools you need to activate the camera remotely and in any time sequence you wish.

I've use NC to do this on several occasions, but given my laptop's hunger for power, its really only practical when near mains power. A stand alone intervalometer at a sensible price is irresistable to me, so I ordered one:)

Good point. Maybe on some laptops you can set it up and then turn the screen off....but laptop battery time is surely an issue.
