Re: Nikon Annoucement: End of Nikon Film Cameras
Very interesting Birdy. Thanks for the link. Geoff
Special Moments Photography Nikon D700, 50mm 1.4, 85mm 1.4, 70-200 2.8VR, SB800 & some simple studio stuff.
So all the old MF lens which was discontinued by Nikon will raise lot of revenue for collectors.
If you have them, keep them in a safe place! Birddog114

The article say that Nikon are still going to be selling and manufacturing MF lenses
As well as the F6 film body and the manual FM10 Nikon will continue to manufacturer and sell the following Interchangeable manual lenses: Nikkor 20mm f/2.8 Nikkor 24mm f/2.8 Nikkor 28mm f/2.8 Nikkor 35mm f/1.4 Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 Micro-Nikkor 55mm f/2.8 Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 PC Micro-Nikkor 85mm f/2.8D
Huynhhie, They are just a few of MF lenses remaining in comparision with a large number of MF lenses which Nikon introduced long ago. Birddog114

The 45P was discontinued last year and has been announced by Nikon at that time. Birddog114

Kinda makes you wonder if it's even on the cards now with the gradual phasing out of MF lenses. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

Perhaps it should be worded "lenses with aperture rings" as opposed to MF lenses.

Talking to a canon person today he was saying that Nikon had lost market share and was now level with konica minolta and pentax for sales.
I find this very hard to believe Possibly in compact cameras but DSLR???? Sounds like BS to me.
If that is the Canon rep who visits camera House Dug, I have met him and to be honest he is full of it

I'd actually bet that a person considered a "rep" is probably just a wanker who works for the company and does'nt know much about the products or the market share.
And I mean this for most companies, not just Canon. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

canon repnikon will always cop crap from a canon rep the d2x is one of the best in the market and lets not forget nikons optics so much more detail jez
One day he'll join the Nikon or other camp after leaving Canon and he'll say the same story to his oppositions. It's a game and sales techniques which had been introduced to all sales reps. Birddog114

canon repbirddog got it right in one line they are mostly out to make a sale it makes u wonder how many of them own a camera
Keep in mind that as a Canon "rep," he doesn't necessarily have to know anything about cameras or own one, just like a Nikon "rep" wouldn't.
Both Canon and Nikon do more than just camera-based optics. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

True - Canon even more so (scanners, printers, etc). Which is for better or worse I guess. Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes. http://www.dionm.net/
