oneputts fault

Postby Big Red on Sat Jan 14, 2006 1:06 pm

been stuffing around trying to figure out which tripod to get and its not helped by oneputt and kevin getting some excellent non blurry shots of the same stuff i was trying to get ...
still trying to make up my mind but with no one stocking the two tripods i was most interested in on the gold coast so that i could have a play making it even worse ...
get a PM this morning innocently asking if i have a tripod yet

i hadn't even looked at heads yet so i thought i would wander up to Photo Continental in Brisbane to see if they had any for me to look at ....

big mistake !!!

credit card is 350 lighter now and i have a Manfrotto 190PROB with a 488RC4 ball head

OK, i admit it ... i'm happy

I think of my purchases in terms of upgrade capabilities, its like a collins class submarine upgrade.

Anyway a heavy wallet is bad for the posture. :D

some more of oneputts evil doings have come to light your honour ...
whilst the victim was industiously involved in researching the tripod situation he came apon an obscure yet highly desirable FA*28-70 2.8 and proceeded to procure said lens
this has cost the victim a considerable amount and the victim may not be able to afford food for many many weeks and may not survive at all !!

Tripod noted.

I have a crappy tripod.

Therefore I might get that $350 tripod which doesn't cost very much.

had a bit of a repreive as they had no stock of the lens and not likely to ever get one either.

pack of shonky's as they turn out to be renowned for doing a bait and switch routine.
also it has been noted that some people were charged for gear later on when they didn't order or receive anything.
I received an email from them to verify my purchace and had to ring them up [ in the USA] ... when i was transferred a couple of times i was told there was none and would i like to buy a sigma instead
i cancelled the order, cancelled my credit card and checked that i had not been charged yet.
Pain in the bum !!

The store was Broadwater photo .com ...
the return email came from amphotoworld.com
another confirmation email was from bwayphoto.com

BEWARE !!! BTW... they are still showing the lens in stock
