Hope everyone is still excited about this event, I sure am! I tried to practice last week so I can make the most of the morning light!
Craig - I am VERY excited too! There are a few people on the original list whom haven't informed me of their email addresses. I will be emailing the participants the detailed information on times, maps and locations in the next day or so . Geoff

Come one Leigh, come!!! You got anything planned the night before ? If not then nothing should be stopping you...
You will still be awake The estimated MEET time will be between 5 and 5:30am. I will know a more accurate time closer to the date. Geoff

Of course you are welcome Chi! I will see if I can organise you a bed here where Bel and I live Chi for the night before, however this may not be possible as we already have guest/s. I will keep you posted Geoff

Can I also get an indication of who will be attending the breakfast after the shoot/walk on Dee Why beach cafe strip? I have find a well priced good cafe that would be good for us all .

Geoff, I seem to have lost my lucky 13th spot on the list, I was there a few pages ago, but now I'm not.
Matt B : I didn't want to risk the trains, so have made arrangements to stay on the North side of Sydney the night before, perhaps shoot a little at sunset too and make a weekend out of it. I didn't want to miss it because of a late train, or one that didn't come at all.
Sorry Craig - now fixed. Matt - this could be a tad difficult. If I was loaded (which I'm not) I'd pay for a cab for you... Anyone driving from over your way? Geoff

Sheila - will you be bringing anyone along with you?

According to the BOM website the trend for next Saturday and Sunday are 'mainly fine'- fingers crossed .

I'll be along for the Brekkie (is it too early to drink?)
Matt, I wouldn't count on the trains - they cease services around 1am and don't start until 5am or so; on top of expected weekend track works, which means busses run in lieu of trains (even more hopelessly out of schedule).
Matt - we MAY be able to accomodate you and have u stay from the night before...I will see what I can do.

Brekky MenuThis place does have a 10% surcharge on Sun/Public hols. If people are strongly opposed to this I can find another cafe. Here is a PDF of their breakfast menu:

Wow Sounds like a Maxi Meet!!
I noticed this morning there were signs regarding Faulcon St Bridge closed Jan 21-22nd??? Anyway just thought I would mention to prevent anyone from having unexpected delays. Good Luck everyone! Anxious to see the pics!!
Thanx for the info. I will investigate and give alternate directions for those coming from the south. Geoff

I'm actually going to a party the night before at this point in time so it's very likely I will be, yes. I'll be sleepy and scruffy, but still strangely solid for shooting stills! Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

ok...the good news is that we are now up to a potential 20 ppl for the Northern Beaches Meet. Just waiting for a few more confirmations!
The even better news is that we can accomodate up to 4 people to stay with Bel and myself in the house we are living in the night before (Saturday). We have two tentative (not finally booked however reserved) beds (one double) and have two more single beds available. Fortunately we will have two cars to transport these 4 people on the Sunday morning too (about a 10 minute drive). Please PM me if you would like to arrange accomodation out our place We accept VISA/MC/AMEX Geoff

Well I have my lodgings for the night sorted, but I'd just like to say thanks to Geoff and Bel for organising and offering their hospitality to fellow forum members, its great stuff!
(Have we been able to source a model to shot alongside our sunrises ?) Geoff maybe you can have a word with Bel ?
No problems guys! As far as Bel being a model for us during the mornign - that will happen when hell freezes!! Geoff

I suspected a pretty similar response... I guess we could resort to Matt B. He's not camera shy..
Yeah but I can't kiss matt in between the model shoot...well I could but eeeeeeeeeeeeeew

For those that will still be around @ 10:20am, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter will be doing a mock demonstration rescue off Dee Why Beach.
It will then land behind the beach in the local park. I'd expect you wont be able to capture both unless you can run really fast. The park is a good 400m away. Cheers Warwick

Thanx mate Should be a fun morning (if not a weary eyed one!). I'm really looking forward to it. Don't worry - there will be plenty of photos to view from the event I think. Then you can come to the next one (Manly/Shelly Beach Headland walk) which I have already started thinking about for a bit later in the year . I might even reserve a bed for you in our new unit which we will definately be in by then Geoff

Would like to come, only problem is i don't live anywhere near the northern beaches, Dee Why incudes a long bus trip from the city, which may be difficult at 4:00am in the morning, anyone with suggestions.
I have already said in this post mate that anyone who is wanting to stay at our place from the night before to PM me! We should be able to squeeze you in! Bel and i will be picking up Chi (and maybe a few others) somewhere in the city in the afternoon/evening of Saturday. Geoff
