Using my Canon 17-40, I took three images "vertical" and merged them in PS2. It was one of those rare days when Narrabeen Lake was very still, reflecting the wonderful sky.

I have printed each of these out and put them in a large frame with a matboard with three openings - a bit "seventies" but it works quite well.

Glorious Photo. Vibrant, saturated colours and a terrific exemplar as to why colour photography was invented :) Beautifully taken Sheila, the rich colours in heaven and on earth really work well together in this image. Well crafted

I'm left wondering Sheila what sort of impact a stronger reflection in the water of those lovely clouds would have had on the viewer :)
cheers

I saw this one in your gallery and it was very eye catching, I might of missed the 70's the first time round, but I like the 3 piece idea. The colours are great in this, the little red thing in the water on the left is a little out of place, but other then that this is top notch!

Hi Marco

I was using a polarising filter and experimented a great deal with the reflection. If I turned the CP any further, all I would have would be sand!

Hi Sheila
A lovely image you have created here. I don't think the resizing for the web does it any justice at all. The saturated colours, especially in the sky and the sand really "pop" out at you.

The only downfall, for me personally, are the blown highlights in the clouds. They seem to keep stealing my gaze when I look at the image.

Beautiful image Sheila,
Have seen this on your own site (pbase) and wondered over it for a while then.
You have a great eye for detail and composition.

Sorry Sheila, but I'm gonna go a little against the grain here...
While I'm normally a fan of high saturation, I find this to be just a tiny bit too cranked up for my taste... (but it may well be my monitor which is desperately in need of a calibration )

The slight polariser vignette in the top left hand corner is a little distracting (but that can be fixed easily).
Also, while it could well be an optical illusion caused by the natural cloud formations/colouring, there appear to be a couple of slight vertical bands in the pano roughly at the 1/3 points. Mind you if you hadn't said that it was a stitched image, I probably wouldn't have noticed it :-)

Have you tried stitching the originals together with Panorama Factory or something similar? You might find that it would blend the scene a little better. Personally, I always find that it does a better job than PS...
Cheers, John
