Photography magazines warningsorry meant to post this in the general info
I'm not sure if others have been stung but I have done my money on a subscription to the Digital Photography Made Easy magazine. they have sold up/liquidated in Oz and left us poor paid up subscribers with no compensation - despite earlier talk of free back issues or subs to other magazines owned by the distributors. anyone else caught out or wondering why Highbury/paragon mags are no longer on the shelves for us beginners? Not happy Jan!! Rookie 2
You guys should invest your hard earned cash in gears rather than those funny mags

Sorry about your loss, but thanks for mentioning it Rookie - I was just about to subscribe to a couple of their mags
It's a shame, coz they were quite good magazines... Cheers, John

WARNING Photo magazine subsI really liked the mags as well. simople clear instructions and reviews (not as good as the info gained from this forum tho)
my info (via a call from another publisher tidying up Paragon Highbury's mess) is that they have left Australia for good with no sign of compensation to Oz subscribers. they are still producing the magazines in the UK but I would tread warily with any thought of sending them my $$$ from Oz. i have sent emails to various UK staff but do not expect any reply. PS Birddog looking forward to spending some $$ with you in the future. PS Robw - are us Croweatrers easy game for the Paragons? cheers R2
Sorry to hear of your loss guys but as one who has twice been dudded by publishing bastards I buy magazines singly. If I'm in the newsagent and a cover catches my eye I'll flick through it and buy it if I find it interesting. Otherwise I'll save my dough.

Re: WARNING Photo magazine subs
it would seem so !! i did like the mag, i have all the issues ! i put all the tutorials into a folder on the hard drive then i dont have to look for the cover disc, but now i just do what moggy does ! cheers rob
DPME magazinerob
what was the last issue you received - # 29 for me. have you found anything comparable since? cheers R2
Re: DPME magazine
R2 sorry i cant remember ! i am having our photography meeting at my place this month and plan to give about 90 mags i have bought to them as there is a few pensioners in this group and are just beginners i thought it would help them and i get more room ! i had some pics in issue 22 ! cheers rob
I subscribe to Better Digital an Aussie mag comes out quarterly. All local content and good value. They also have a quarterly called Better Photoshop Techniques. Both are good for beginners like me.

I did like "Digital Photographer", but was always concerned that it hardly had any ads, ie it was always going to be marginal in meeting its costs. I think "Photography Monthly", a UK rag, is not bad at 10 bucks an issue. Great photos and good articles.
I dont subscribe to any magazines.. but sometimes im lucky to get a magazine from the newsagent.. or Dug is nice enough to loan me a couple of old magazines to read
