Go to:

Edit | Convert to Profile

then choose which profile you want from the drop-down menu...

I'm just going by PSCS2, which should be the same (I think) :roll:

or click save for web. this will let you save a copy for internet purposes whilst leaving the original in argb

If you do it this way you will lose all EXIF data on the web version. Always better to ”save as” jpg :wink:

aRGB to sRGB

Postby neroli on Wed Jan 18, 2006 9:33 pm

From memory, it's under:

File | Convert to Profile in Photoshop CS (and PS 7?) for those that haven't got CS2 yet.

Moved to:

Edit | Convert to Profile in PS CS2

Cheers

Nope: Image->Mode->Convert to Profile.

Save for Web will NOT convert it to sRGB for you: it will however throw the profile information away if you don't tick the "ICC Profile" box. Some software may then assume the file is in sRGB, but Save for Web did not change any of the pixel numbers and convert it to sRGB. This is probably not what you want...

Just tested this and that is exactly what happens.
I was told to do this ages ago and took it at face value.
It appeared to be giving me the results I was after, ie getting the images to display in a web browser correctly. It seems I have been getting the result I wanted more from good luck than good management
thanks for setting me straight on that.
