Christmas gift idea

Postby bago100 on Wed Dec 22, 2004 10:37 am

It's been an expensive year :(

New D70, Kit lens, wrist and neck strap, Lowepro bag, 70-300 Sigma APO lens, Pec pads and books and .... on and on it goes.

No money left, all Birdies and Mr. Poon's fault. :D

Problem - what to buy my beautiful wife (Annette) for Christmas.

I've pondered for weeks about this until .... voila! .... Then I saw Annette's recently broken footware in the bin yesterday.

And, yes - in case you are all wondering, I have noted the correct size!

Cheers

Graham

You can buy them for a thong - shame about our lusts which cost an arm and a leg. . . .

Bago, just to make sure you get a big Christmas kiss, buy her Havanas. They look exactly like the ones Annette is throwing out, except they have Havana written on them and cost $20 instead of $3. Top shelf presents and wanky marketing brands are always appreciated by the ladies at Christmas

You are a brave man! At least you can show your grandchildren the scars... That's if you can still have children after the chrissie present ;-)

Maybe a nice large print portrait (of her!!!) to show how much you care??? I know, it's a long shot but hey it can be used for justification....

Cheers,

It's just not the done thing! :D :D

Think I'll wait until the Boxing Day sales! @lol PS. Would anyone like to comment on the merits or otherwise of the photo?

Here is what I came up with to keep the peace at home this Christmas.

My Christmas budget has hit rock bottom due to photographic spending, so today I spent the little I had on some picture frames. I bought three 10x8 frames and a 20x30 frame. Now all I have to do is fill those frames with some nice pics.
She doesn't know about it, but I know that she likes the idea. As an added bonus she can enjoy my hobby as much as I do. I just need to remember to swap those pics out every now and then to keep her interested.

See... I can have my cake and eat it too.

Cheers

Matt

I know it is hard to accept, but mate, they're gone to that big dump in the sky. :(

*sigh*

I'm off to the beach for a few days in the next month, so I'll keep on the lookout while wandering on the sandy sea shore. Driftthongs are not that hard to find.

Sincere commiserations

I told my wife her Xmas present was stuck in customs and might not make i by Xmas day...

She thinks I am getting her a new lens for "HER" camera (BTW - she only uses a point and shoot  )

I think she blames Birddog for this :)

I'm happy to get a blame from her, provided she's going to give you an other approval for the 70-200VR in the New Year

Ummm is this before or after we spend the 30K renovating our house????

I am already in trouble for "dipping" into the reno funds for the 24 - 120 :)

The 24-120VR is just the cost of few tiles on the benchtop! just have some Xmas cards or present wrap's paper to cover that area temporary and you'll be right.

Good strategy. It will free up lots of time for your photography - given that you won't be spending any time on the nest
