In regards to the speed or appearance?

EDIT - Because if it is appearance I am pretty confident it would be hard to edit in dreamweaver, which I don't find all that scarey compared to flash.

Speed is like it's being hosted on a 56 k connection. :( You can upload to your dreamhost account using FTP, but I have no idea about which mac FTP clients are good!

Hmm. Using Fetch for Mac - ftp. Uploading files directly into the home directory. Hope it works, don't have a clue

That would be very easy to do in Dreamweaver.

Hey Heath, just found this thread.
I'm always more than willing to have a look at the specs of the job and quote a price for you unless you've found someone else to do this. I'll PM you some more links if you want.

I'm pretty happy in flash, and totally an advocate of CSS Tableless layouts. Ohh, look at the geek in me :)

Matt & I will fight Hasselhoff style in a ring to determine the true winner of the CSS battle.

Or we'll just get two banana peels to battle it out while we eat ice cream.

Either works.

Thanks Matt. I like your site.

CSS is the newest thing right, and supposed to be the future? - I have heard that a lot of uni's are still teaching the older programs.

Let the battle begin.

Hi Heath,

http://www.robertkleingallery.com/gallery/fokos

Found the above URL of a photo site that uses Gallery and it was nicely modified, options, options, :? :?

It has lots of different galleries as well.

cheers,

Radar - good find. This one is exactly what I meant by customising Gallery. I wonder how har this would be? I wonder if I could email this person for his files for a fee?

Catcha - thanks for asking.

Looks like a pretty standard Gallery 1 skin to me? Can't really see any huge customisation?

Gallery 2 is a lot more flexible and better featured.

Heath: This is going to be predominantly a portfolio / showcase site with a bit of text right?

If so, then I would go with a customised gallery 2 install + skin.

If there is a lot of text content and news and so on, then joomla with integrated gallery 2 is a decent option.

http://www.pedrogilberto.net/gallery2/theme.html is an excellent and configurable theme.

Not sure about GD, but I believe so.
