Joet,
I have your name, it's a longish night and well over 1 or 2:00am in the next morning and distance travelling from where you live, I'm sure you will be tired at the end.
Welcome anyway!

Sounds like a great event to be at. I look forward to seeing your results. Such a picturesque venue and wonderful people too. I enjoyed the Vesak day last year immensely.

That why I organized VIP parking passes and all attendees have a front row seats same as can shoot from many vantage points which they like and prefer, accesing to the stage etc... those are our privileges which the organizer reserved for us.

Yes, I knew them very well and they were among the organizer group, they performed same as doing MC at any events at the monastery. Unfortunately, they resigned this year due to their work commitments but I do often met them at the monastery.
Next time at the mini meet, I'll show you their photos, were taken in the past by me.

Birddog, I know they are strongly associated with the temple. Last I heard from my mum is that they are going back to VN. I think VN government wants my uncle's agricultural expertise in cross breeding vegatables. I think its an academic position, but not entirely sure.

Very sad news for me, but good news I guess for someone else. I was so looking forward coming along, experiencing the atmosphere and also taking some great pics with friends. Anyways at very late notice I now have family commitments to attend do in Foster over the weekend of the event, so will have to withdraw and hope someone else can take my place.

Very sorry to change my plans on your Birddog but some events are beyond my control! :( :(

Hi Birddog,

great event you are going to attend, I'm envious.
May I ask you how the Chinese New Year is linked to the Vietnamese and Bhuddist culture.
Please forgive my ignorance, I grew up in a different part of the world.

Cheers,

Chinese NY is alway linked to The Vietnamese Buddhist culture for more than 4000 years now. The first original Vietnamese were from China, and Chinese is a great Buddhist congregation in the world, including Taiwan + HongKong + Japan + many other countries in SEA.
Vietnamese also work and live on with the Lunar calendar also, this time of the year, many countries in SEA are preparing their big event of the year.

Why do you ask me this?
Your name is on the list and you're on, no cancellation.
The only thing is: you have to come to my base at 2:00PM to collect the VIP Parking pass, name badge & food voucher.
I won't return to Sydney till Saturday lunch time.

The last time I went to that same temple I did not eat any thing all day until about 4pm. When the food came out I packed the plate until it was as high as a mountain. Half way through the meal I was so full that I could not eat any more

Because it was a temple and there was a monk sitting next to me, I could not throw the food away; so I slowly polished off the plate which took me an hour to finish. Since then I have learned my leason in gluttony :D
