Sigma macro lensI am considering the purchase of a macro lens and have been checking reviews and examples of several choices.
I am deciding between Sigma 150 and 180, there seems to be very little difference between the two with both lens having points for and not much it seems against. My preferance is for a lens that will give the sharpest pics. If anyone here has used both lens I would appreciate your opinion. Thanks Rick
Rick,
I used both lenses but do not have them in my bag. The Sig 150 is 2.8, fast, good for low light, extreme nice bokeh and great macro lens, cost more. The Sig 180 is not a fast lens as the 150, also a nice lens to have for macro, more range than the 150, it produces nice bokeh, can be used as a tele, required good lighting and it cost less. i have a tamron 90 which is very sharp but i can see the value in moving back a bit and will be keeping an eye out for a 200 pentax macro.
i would suggest going for the 180 if the sharpness is the same as the 150. Shane

Rick, I have the Sigma 150 2.8. It is an excellent lens and produces beautiful sharp results. It's also not to bad as a short telephoto.
