6000 cameras? Are you serious? I've never taken that many photos!

I got called Ant by some of my co-workers because I have notoriously small handwriting - once described as being like an ants footpprints prints across a page. One day, I needed a name for pc gaming and imaginatively came up with Antman. That was years ago now and used it ever since.

Alpha_7 - Pronouced Alpha Seven (the Underscore is silent, but a vital part of the name 8) )

After using a few other alias that didn't suit, I ended up with Alpha_7, used on all the BBS's back in the day, online, and in the lanning community.

My nick is the Low German form of Στεφανος (Stephanos) which means "crown". The credit for picking it goes to my parents, though...

For reasons I can't quite remember I didn't use my usual (IRC) nick for this forum, which is dotnet (like my domain). Hence, to keep confusion at bay, simply remember: it is spelled S-t-e-f-f-e-n, but it is pronounced dotnet.

Cheers
Steffen.

My only defence is I was pregnant at the time I created my account here. Those hormones are funny buggers (really wish I had had a better grip on them as I hate the name now).

Postby radar on Mon Jan 30, 2006 10:33 am

Radar - acronym from RAdio Detection And Ranging

That's not the real reason :P

I had a nice Golden Retriever named Radar, he was named after Radar in MASH, so thought to use this when I joined the forum.

jdear is the first inital of my first name and dear is my last name.
My wife before we married had the last name love.

dont normally use it, but since it fits in with my webby jdear.com I stuck with it.

Normally I use PHYZAR (not to be confused with the crap Daihatsu PYZAR - I had mine way before!) which was a unique name I invented for the days I spent way too much time playing Quake 2 online.

both are readily available anytime I need to sign up for something :)

Mine is an acronym. An in-joke between my fiancée and I, and obscure/strange enough that no one ever seems to register it as a username, hence I use it a lot so I have continuity in my usernames.

For those who NEED to know, it stands for "Large, Oddly-Shaped Frilly Pillow" - you know, one of those big L-shaped ones. When I first met her, she had one of those as she had travelled on the overnight XPT train from Melbourne.

Yeah, I'm all over the shop. :) If you see a losfp registered anywhere else, chances are it's probably me....

Oh, and it's pronounced Loss-Fp (ie: as spelt) - but I tend to spell it out to people.

If you're REALLY unhappy with the name, we occasionally will change it, especially if your new and for some reason or another didn't understand what "username" meant and put something silly in there.

However, if you're a fairly senior member here then you're probably better off keeping your name just so people can remember who you are when you post.

Changing usernames happens every so often, but it's just a username people. :)

samester - pronounced "same stir"

first few days on the job after finishing uni i was challenged to some bogusly cheap pc computer game. the guy that challenged me was the unbeaten office champ. after taunting me i couldn't let this guy win so i hacked the high scores file. everyone had entered a 3 letter name except for the champ ("davester") so i copied his entry and put in "sam" where i thought his 3 letter name was and then bumped up the score.

when i told him i'd beaten his record he looked at the hi scores and shouted "who the fuk is the samester"

needless to say that's what everyone calls me here at work.
