Eclipse retail in Sydney

Postby Sheila Smart on Mon Feb 06, 2006 12:22 pm

Is there anywhere in Sydney where one can buy Eclipse over the counter rather than have it shipped from Nulabs?

Thanks for your time.

Cheers

I have more than enough and would be happy to give you some Sheila :)
It's not like we live ages away from each other.
Birddog may also be able to help you with a purchase of this also.

Sheila - the Eclipse fluid is just Methyl Alcohol, so if you can source this it will do the job

Chris,
Penfolds Grange 51 will do the job better than Methyl Alcohol

Sheila,
We still have some free methanol for members, you need to find a container and have 100ml for your stock.

Birddog: I need some Methyl Alcohol to clean my lens as well, could I come and get some off from you?

Thanks all. I do have a couple of bottles but was just curious if it can be obtained in Sydney. When I run out, I'll take up Birddog's kind offer. While on the subject, I do recommend Copperhill's SensorSwipe and hope it fits my 5D (when I find one which is reasonably priced.. I won't hold my breath!).

A little off topic, but Shelia are you currently camera-less ? Or do you have one of your earlier cameras availble for you to shot with till the 5D is bought and arrives ?

For the first time in four years, I am cameraless! (And of course, I saw a great shot at lunchtime  ). I am currently doing the rounds of Sydney retail camera stores and the cheapest I have found is Foto Riesel at $4,807. I can get the GST back when I leave for NZ on 1 March. I did try a 5D with a 17-40 (which I have) and boy, is it wide :D I will hold off until my husband's contact gets back to work on Tuesday. I did email Foto Riesel and suggested that they chuck in a 2 gig card. I won't hold my breath.

My husband does have an IXUS 700 which I may use until I get the 5D. Oh, the indignity

Good luck getting a good deal Shelia, I hope your hubby pulls through with a nice deal.

I've shot with my wifes IXUS 50 a bit, and I can somewhat relate to the indiginty you speak off, on the other hand sometimes its just the right size, when a full blown SLR would be prohibitive.

It's much easier to sneak into concerts and the like too!
