First American Cover :)

Postby blacknstormy on Tue Feb 07, 2006 2:48 pm

Woo Hoo - ages ago, I posted a portrait of a praying mantis grooming ...... a friend in the US forwarded it to the editor of the American Entomologist http://www.entsoc.org/pubs/periodicals/ae/index.htm and the editor just contacted me asking if they can use it on the Summer edition cover :)

Of course I said no ;)

Yippeeeeeee

SHould we start asking for royalies? :)

Rel,

That's seriously great news. Congratulations, and well done.

Your hard work is being rewarded, and I suspect that you'll find that the act of being published like this is its own reward, with any payment being simply the icing on the cake.

Rel

Congrats and well deserved. I've had the front cover on a mag twice (NOT for a photo) and know just how amazing it feels. Make sure you get a few copies as some will be given away and some will get damaged showing off your pride and joy.

Thanks all :) - And it's due to the comments, suggestions and help given to me on this site (and thanks to Birdy) that my photography is slowly getting better. So basically, it isn't my cover, it's the DSLR cover !!!!!

Thank you all so much, I don't think I've ever enjoyed learning so much as I do here, and it all comes down to the people.

Your are all brilliant !!!!

Thank you

Hi Narelle,

Congrats on your first of many covers! As Gary said, "the act of being published is a reward of its own with any payment being icing on the cake". I agree fully. I have had 7 covers so far (4 magazines, 2 calendars and a dvd/cd/video) and each and every one is special in itself. Its great that people appreciate your work enough to want to put it on a cover.

Well done, once again!

Cheers

Craig,

At this very minute I am sourcing web space to start posting again (due to mishap a week or so ago when I first started posting). I just went to Smugmug and they have increased their pricing to $US39.95 per year from $US29.95 (with discount code) so am not sure. Will organise something soon.

Thanks for asking.

Cheers

Narelle,

Damian had better get out and earn some fast money.

Now, is it a diamond necklace you would like or a Nikon 600mm f4??????

Cheers
