Rel - do you think its worth trying to cart a tripod around; I may just elect to bring my monopod and that's it. Also are we going anywhere where a wide angle is likely to get a workout; I'm tempted to leave mine behind to force me to focus on wildlife stuff.

Dion - the tripod and wideangle would be ok at TT & Boondall - some nice scenery out there, but won't be much use at night at Karawatha...... and it's extra to carry .... so up to you.... maybe we SHOULD force you to do some wild-lifey type stuff

What do you think? Less stuff to carry is often a good thing....

Dion - are you right for a lift now?

Most important - bring a hat, sunscreen, closed in shoes (sandshoes are fine) and insect repellent and a TORCH.

Rel Mitedo is a non starter. Slider, Zeeke and myself will be arriving together. Dion is making his own way there and then hopping in with us. We will have fish and some meat with us to avoid the inevitabloe hunger pains. I will wear long pants, have a hat and repellant. Please do not lead me astray

Looking forward to it, im hoping to raid camera house in the morning first thing and get myself a smaller camera bag.. Ask Oneputt about my current one hehe.. its a monster.. and just too big to carry around.. which gets annoying when you want to carry a couple of lenses..

Fish is in the fridge thawing out, its been in the freezer for a couple of weeks.. and was cryovac'd .. ill have it all ready to rock and roll, so if your having fish, just bring what you want to have with it..

Yep I'm right for transport now.

I'll be bringing 2x backpacks (1x camera, 1x other for water, repellant, etc) and my monopod. If I could chip in with others for BBQ food (or if we stop somewhere to purchase, that would be even better).

Yep, was a great trip in the end. Thanks to all who came and assisted, big thanks to Rel and Damian for the guidance, esp at the end.

I got home about 12ish, showered etc. Then got woken up at 3am by a car accident next door (slippery roads, living near an off camber downhill corner, always happens).

A special thank you to Tim for the beautiful snapper for the barbecue, what a treat that was.

Thank you everyone for such an enjoyable day/evening We had a blast, but a real bugger that it didn't rain a couple of days before - would have made all the difference. It was such a pleasure to meet everyone, to put the new faces to names, and to see all of the old ones

Tim - thank you sooo much for the fish (I feel like I should be a dolphin, saying 'so long and thanks for the fish' ) What an amazing treat that was - we all enjoyed it, and it was all thanks to you !!!

I promise I will never again try to organise anything to do with a bbq, or anything that is better with rain I hope I'm forgiven ?
