Well I have been watching the numbers tick over and thought I should save my 5,000th post for something special. This is it, so here goes:

While I may have just hit the 5K mark, I've only got there because this is such a fantastic little community that enourages me to come back (again and again and again). I've learnt heaps here since joining in December '04 when I knew next to nothing about photography, let alone what an F stop was or what ISO did etc. Along the way I've also got to know some great people and form some strong friendships. And that damn lens lust hit and has (hopefully) abated.

Who'd have thought an online community would have such a strong physical presence too. It's been great to meet a lot of you in the flesh at mini meets, outings and dinners and I look forward to even more of it in the future. In fact I'll be meeting some new members this coming Saturday at the Cataract Dam picnic and I'm looking forward to it - should be a fun day. I'll also happily accept a congratulatory drink

Peter, please accept my belated congratulations. Thanks for your witicisms, advice and support, as well as all those fantastic photos.
