Ok guys, only 2 more sleeps to go (including this one)
Can we have a final list of who's coming along????? Finalise everything tomorrow if that's ok And Tim, the fish will definitely be a goer I was thinking we could drop into coles or somesuch on the way and pick up other stuff for the BBQ..... save everyone carting stuff around ... but just a thought. I think dropping into Coles or something is a good idea!
I'll be attending! Rel - do you think its worth trying to cart a tripod around; I may just elect to bring my monopod and that's it. Also are we going anywhere where a wide angle is likely to get a workout; I'm tempted to leave mine behind to force me to focus on wildlife stuff. Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes. http://www.dionm.net/
Dion - the tripod and wideangle would be ok at TT & Boondall - some nice scenery out there, but won't be much use at night at Karawatha...... and it's extra to carry .... so up to you.... maybe we SHOULD force you to do some wild-lifey type stuff
What do you think? Less stuff to carry is often a good thing.... Rel ps I'm off to bed (damn sinus) .... will check again early in the morning. Pleasant dreams everyone Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships! -Ansel Adams

Hello all
I will try and make it to the Tinchi Tamba meeting spot. Not sure how long I can stay as I have work commitments later in the day. Looking forward to meeting everyone! Cheers Gecko Nikon D70, SB600, Benbo Trekker, LSII, KingPano and a lot to learn!
Hey guys,
Well, this is it so far, the list stands at: Dion Manta (possible) Mitedo BigPix BigRed Slider Neroli Xerubus Oneputt Zeeke Finch and maybe Grev & Gecko Does that look about right? Meeting at TT at 2pm then onward I've posted it before, but if anyone needs us, mobile 0412 550 240. We are working (bugger) until about 12.30 tomorrow, so can't take any calls until after that time. Dion - are you right for a lift now? Most important - bring a hat, sunscreen, closed in shoes (sandshoes are fine) and insect repellent and a TORCH. charge those batteries up guys, I'll be online until later tonight, so see you all tomorrow Rel & Damo Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships! -Ansel Adams

Rel Mitedo is a non starter. Slider, Zeeke and myself will be arriving together. Dion is making his own way there and then hopping in with us. We will have fish and some meat with us to avoid the inevitabloe hunger pains. I will wear long pants, have a hat and repellant. Please do not lead me astray

Looking forward to it, im hoping to raid camera house in the morning first thing and get myself a smaller camera bag.. Ask Oneputt about my current one hehe.. its a monster.. and just too big to carry around.. which gets annoying when you want to carry a couple of lenses..
Fish is in the fridge thawing out, its been in the freezer for a couple of weeks.. and was cryovac'd .. ill have it all ready to rock and roll, so if your having fish, just bring what you want to have with it.. Tim D70 - D200/MBD200 Coming soon - Too Much Gear, Not Enough Talent

Yep I'm right for transport now.
I'll be bringing 2x backpacks (1x camera, 1x other for water, repellant, etc) and my monopod. If I could chip in with others for BBQ food (or if we stop somewhere to purchase, that would be even better). Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes. http://www.dionm.net/
Cool Dion - we have to stop for food anyway (can't take it to work at 5am) so we'll fine tune it when we see you

It was great to meet new faces and a good night was had by all.
Thanks to go to: Dion for suggesting idea initially and running with it. Narelle (blacknstormy) and Damian for helping with itinerary and finding critters Tim (Zeeke) for offering brilliant fillets of snapper John (Oneputt) for bring tripod/head for me to check out before buying Mark (Slider) for giving us a demo of his new 'Super Flash Bracket' Shane (Big Red) and others for offering us a much-needed mossie repelant The weatherman for keeping the rain away when we were in the field! (it absolutely bucketed down at 4am, four hours after I arrived home) I look forward to more get-togethers in the future Cheers Michael
Yep, was a great trip in the end. Thanks to all who came and assisted, big thanks to Rel and Damian for the guidance, esp at the end.
I got home about 12ish, showered etc. Then got woken up at 3am by a car accident next door (slippery roads, living near an off camber downhill corner, always happens). Tinchi Tamba outing...Great day thanks everyone, especially Dion, Rel and Damian for organising.
A special thank you to Tim for the beautiful snapper for the barbecue, what a treat that was. I woke up this morning with a migraine, so I'm not feeling overly intelligent. I'll get a couple of pics up as soon as I can think straight. Cheers Judy
It was terriffic to meet everyone - sorry I couldn't stick around.
We should try and get together more often! Here are some 'action' shots at Tinchi Tamba (lots of talking - not much photography ) Cheers Gecko Nikon D70, SB600, Benbo Trekker, LSII, KingPano and a lot to learn!
Thank you everyone for such an enjoyable day/evening We had a blast, but a real bugger that it didn't rain a couple of days before - would have made all the difference. It was such a pleasure to meet everyone, to put the new faces to names, and to see all of the old ones
Tim - thank you sooo much for the fish (I feel like I should be a dolphin, saying 'so long and thanks for the fish' ) What an amazing treat that was - we all enjoyed it, and it was all thanks to you !!! I promise I will never again try to organise anything to do with a bbq, or anything that is better with rain I hope I'm forgiven ? Hugs & looking forward to the next one Rel & Damo Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships! -Ansel Adams
