This weeks picture of the week is one of a series which is posted here by Wendell. I don't know if I like these shots because Wendell is a good photographer or his friend and model Laura is a good sort.
As you can read Wendell had a white room, model, window, camera and flash. Great result when compares the simplicity of this setup to what some big names use for portraiture. Have a look at the series, this is only one of many and doesn't show how many excellent shots were in the series. Well done Wendell

This is a very compelling portrait, you can really relate to and engage
with the subject.
And I agree with Glen, she is a good sort.
More beautiful work Wendell, and a well deserved PotW
Fine choice Glen.

Excellent image Wendell and very well selected by Glen. I thought that this series had a great array of fantastic images when I first saw it. As Glen has already said Wendell had an extremely simple setup yet again he has excelled using his skills and his developing know-how.
I think I like the image for the two reasons Glen does

It certainly was a pleasure looking through that series Wendell.
Laura has lovely skin tones and you've lit and posed her beautifully, resulting in a fresh, sharp and absorbing image.
You should both be very proud. Congratulations.
Good choice Glen - This shot is perhaps a little more traditional than many other PsOTW but shows the real craft of photography is often the simple attention to basics.

Whilst not a great fan of portraiture (I can take them or leave them), I do think this is a beauty and a well-deserved POTW. Lovely soft lighting, a simple pose and a lovely face - well done W.

Had to pop in and say well done on this. It's a magazine shot, yet still comes across as quite natural, a good cover shot, shows great skill in composition and art.

Nice work, Wendell!! Liked the series when I saw it originally, and still like the shots
I like how simple it is - a lot of my shots are too busy, so that's definitely something I can learn to improve on.

This was my pick of the bunch from the shoot Wendell - it's a classic look, beautifully clean, and well shot.
I'd like to see her ear in focus but that's a minor thing.\
Congratulations again mate - 2 now!

Congratulations Wendell! The whole series is beautiful in its range and the winning shot is superb. Laura comes through as relaxed and at ease with the photographer which is where a great deal of the skill also lies.
And once again, I'm lusting after that lens. Dang!
