Itemised and recorded all serial numbers for camer gear

Postby BBJ on Wed Dec 29, 2004 8:55 pm

Hi All, Well thought i had better do something i had been meaning to do for awhile now. Made a list of all my camera gear and did all the serial numbers from camera's and lenses as well just incase someone decide they want it more than me oneday, Over my dead body. Bit it happens i guess.
Pitty my lenses wouldn't fit on me D70 like my Yashica AF 50mm 1:1.8 and so on.
Anyhow if some haven't done this good idea to do it, but i would think most people have and i will have to check with my insurance to see if it's all covered with my contents and so on.
Cheers
John

BBJ,
I think most of our members have done their way in recording all their valueable items and their camera gears, just in case something went wrong

BBJ,

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but having been burned in the past I now not only have cpoies of all receipts, I have dig Photos off everything I deemto be of substantial value (ccomputers, camera gear, artwork, etc...) which are loaded to a secured area on my webserver. I also scanned the recepts and added them as text files.

Just want my gear covered.

Insurance and the like

Postby tasadam on Thu Dec 30, 2004 9:21 am

I had a great idea, of taking a photo of everything in the house, putting small prints in a document and comments beside each - serial number if applicable, cost, replacement value, etc, burning this document onto a CD and storing it in the safe or somewhere - maybe the neighbours or something. But like some others, I am slack and only got through 2 rooms of the house.

Thanks for the reminder, must get on with it.
Adam.
