Snoopy, New UserHi,
I hope this first post is in the right group. I have been aware of the user forum for close to 2 years by the generousity of Birddog, having attending some gathering at his place, I have been lurking and picking up some good tips online in that time. I have bitten the bullet and decided to show myself by joining the community. I am pretty shy when it comes to online groups, lets just say I have had some bad experiences elsewhere and as long ago as the 1200/2400 bps BBS days. From my 'lurking' and from the members I have met I can see that this is a great group to be involved with, none of the pitfalls of most other forums exist here. A bit about myself, I have worked in IT for 27 years, recently changing from mainframe/WAN network/PC/LAN management to a new company in the field of IT Facilities Management, just looking after the IT Buildings and server rooms Australia wide. Great to hear the IT technology horror stories in the canteen and not needing to worry/stress about it. I am into historical (WW2) aviation, motor sports (Drag racing and V8Supercars mostly). I have always used photography to support the sport interests. Having used Pracktica and Canon film SLRs. When looking for a Canon digital I was 'persuaded' by Birddog to get a D100 and haven't looked back, great camera. The only problem is high performance camera, low performance driver!! Glad to be here Jeff
Welcome Jeff!
Finally you have made your "real" appearance on this board. Hope and wish to see you soon. Birddog114

G'day Jeff,
Another one who can remember what it was like to connect at 2400 baud and think woo hoo! I think you'll enjoy posting and sharing your images and experiences on this forum, it's like a big family... And another one that's suffered the IT life, can relate mate and can't wait to see some shots of the tintops... Cheers. Aka Andrew

Welcome Jeff. You're dead right - this is a fantastic place to learn from numerous first rate photographers who are happy to share their knowledge with those on the steep end of the learning curve like me.
I look forward to viewing your photos and hearing your critique of mine. Andrew
Like all the other, welcome to the forum.
Great place to learn stuff about photography, meet new people and have a bit of a laugh as well. You certainly won't go astray with Birddog, either - he is a true gentleman and my dealings with him have been exemplary. Cheers Michael
