New nikon lenses?

Postby Michael on Sat Feb 25, 2006 1:07 am

Just lurking on DPreview and I found this.

http://highres.maxwell.com.au/nikkors/index.html

Couple of new lenses there..... I dunno what you others think. Also this lens below the 80 - 200 looks like a totally different lens to what im used to seeing.

Me too! but it's 4.5 - 5.6
Another new toy, how is it compared to the older version of 70-300G?
The difference is only with VR.

Cyanide,
It seems to me the NLD never goes away from your side.

Yeah it looks like the old 70-300. They might of fixed it being a bit of a soft lens at the far end of the focal length, and added VR?

Hmm, some tempting times,

Now what we realy need to know is 1. How good is it 70-300g VR
and
2. Whats it going to cost??

I also see the 70-200VR still there so maybe they are making some more??

Also, How stupid must the people at Maxwells be???

Why would you even post up something with such a large typo, like the 105 1.2, . Do Maxwells have no brains

No wonder the prices are stupid....

All VR except the 80-400 (the first VR) are G lenses. I would guess that the 70-300VR is a new optical formula when compared to the 70-300G.

which lens?

Postby jben_net on Sat Feb 25, 2006 2:00 pm

I'm thinking about getting the nikon 1.4 85mm but this new 2.8 vr 105 has got me thinking.... which one would be better for portraits? What kind of boquet would the 2.8 put out? how many extra stops does VR give you?

sorry about all the questions!

i'm still learning :)
