Congratulations Simon, Mal, John and Yedrup.

Our household is very pleased with a 8th and 10th placing, our best, even if the field was a littler narrower then last time.

Scott - I just logged in to leave comments and seems like I can still vote, or it thinks I have the options to do so.

Does anyone else see the same thing when they log in ?

I don't think anyone would be kaying this one down to enjoy in later years Mal!

Cooking oil and food colouring were the ingredients but the colouring refused to mix properly with the oil so I had to move fast to get the shot. You'll see traces of colur dropping down into the water in the left side glass. I only had about 10 seconds to get the shot once the oil/colour mixture was poured into the glass which is why I couldn't do too much experimentation with lighting on the 'real' subject. Came out all wrong. I was in such a hurry I didn't even notice the droplets on the side of the glass above the surface. Very sloppy!

The idea was the first thing that popped into my head as soon as the challenge theme was announced. The old "glass half full vs glass half empty" comparison seemed perfectly suited to this event. Then it was just a case of figuring out how to do it and get the shot. All done at the last minute in the dying hours of the submission period! PS - I can't see or add any comments.. is the site still experiencing problems? Have others been able to submit or view comments?

Congratulations to all the winners and entrants :) Very creative stuff came out. Dammit, if I knew fire and ice was going to be a popular theme, I would have chosen something else. Ahh hindsight is such a beautiful thing :D Better luck next time then.
