Dslr users groupI’m not sure if the general photography forum here is the right place to post this, But after reading some other forums i dicided i wanted to post this somewhere here. anywho I want to thank you all of all your help you have given me and to others, even though I’m not from Australia you don’t treat me any different and you’ll answer my questions with great help and are very nice and timely (works nice I’m on the computer late at night and that s during your daytime when your awake ) But I notice this group is always very supportive unlike most groups who always have people yelling at each other and I would just like to say thank you... this is definatly the most informative and helpful forum/group on the net

Nice post mate. You make a good point, this group is smaller than say, dpreview, and a much closer knit group.
We don't care much for geographical boundaries either, and enjoy posts from the States or Europe. It sure is a good group, and a great source of support and info. 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

Jeez, will you goddamn yanks piss off already? Seriously though I agree with everything you said, it's a great little place. Glad you feel at home here. If you're ever going to come to Australia make sure to post a thread on here, I'm sure there will be a heap of people willing to show you around.
Thanx for the kind words, William.
Everybody has tried real hard since the inception of the forum to be inclusive and helpful, as well as courteous. It really makes this a fun and informative place to visit. Sort of like how the internet was meant to be. Hope you keep shooting pix, and don't forget to post 'em here! TFF (Trevor)

I totally agree with your sentiments, William.
Dp review has really deteriorated of recent times with many nasty / offensive posts. Unfortunately the forums aren't (or at least don't seem to be) moderated at all, unlike the ones here. Thankfully Gary and the moderators keep a fairly tight but fair reign on things here, to everyones benefit.
William. It's because we are not dpreview that we enjoy the company of valued contributors such as yourself.
I'm sure I speak for many members here when I say we are quite proud of our little corner of the net. If I'm alone in a forest and my wife is not around to hear what I say, am I still wrong ??
I too have noticed that there is not a lot of personality clash here. Most people and most posts are positive.
Every time I forget that I should not bother going back to dpreview forums, I remember. Too many idiots who pick up wrong information and regurgitate it, quoting the wrong sources as creditable info. It's almost the AOL of photography forums. The only difference is that dpreview forum posts aren't as often in all CAPITALS.... People put way too much rubbish in signature blocks.
I've never really seen the need for any intervention in my 2 months here - it's a great community & everyone gets along well & has a good sense of humour, so I plan on staying for a while. I looked at DPR a couple of times, but don't plan on going back. Ever. Craig - Canon 350D, EF-S 18-55, EF 70-300
I can only really think of one time in the past two months where there has been any major problems with a user.

William,
Minnesota. One state I haven't been to. I have always wanted to visit Duluth in mid winter. Why? For no apparent reason except that it's supposed to be very cold and we're getting a bit tired of heat and humidity here on the NSW north coast. Good post BTW, this is a good fair forum for all levels of photographers. Max President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)

I went to Duluth once ... it was closed ... or maybe that was frozen, I couldn't tell regards
