Very, Very nice. Congrats on the win.
Looking around I also quite liked the 2nd placed photo, some stiff competition there.

Nice ’won’ darb - the competition was very stiff which makes the win even better

Well done darb!
Hey darb:
Is it a photography award, or an art award?

Well done Darb,

I noticed the description says "graduated ND emulation" - does this mean the dark sky effect was *gasp* produced in Photoshop?
Cheers

Congrats, looks like there was some stiff competition from the runners up.
What type of GND filter did you use for the shot?

Well done Darb. Really nice shot.
I finally had a look at your shot and the competition. There was certainly some excellent work in there, so winning against good competition must make it all the better.
Cheers

That's fantastic darb, well done. Great photo too, neat and in the middle, perfect composition The wave just grabs the eye.....
I notice that the runner-up photo was taken on a 300D. Ever so sweet the victory

cheers y'all ... and to those that asked abou the grad ND ... it was emulated in CS ... didnt have my cokin set at the time, i originally submitted the original aswell as the photoshopped one, but couldnt resubmit on the photoshoped one as voting had already started, it was getting good feedback so i left it be ... just aswell.
ps if ya dont like the photoshopping of it, dont whinge to me, i dont care, its not someting i do much (mainly coz i have a set of cokin gear anyway and prefer to do it at the time.) ... sick to death of "art vs realism" arguments
thanks for the nice comments, was quite stoked ... if only it was the competition for the nikkor on here! dang!

Nothing bad Darb, just a few comments that it would look better cropped, etc. Glad you won with your vision

G'day,
That's a great example of catching the moment... Did you have many goes with previous waves or was it one of those "one-off" type of shots?
Winning against such good competition must give you a buzz... And deserved too...
Cheers,
Mudder
