Does anyone use one of these with their D70 and if so on what lens? I have one on my shopping list at present.

I have tried but will never buy it, it's restricted you a lot in using some macro lenses, and it's designed for macro lenses only.
It's TTL, not work in i-TTL, manual uses mainly.

Birddog I was but I am beginning to wonder if I should be My other option is to buy the SB800, but I rather like the diffused light of the ring.

I have used this flash on a D1 but do not recommend it at all for the D70 as it is not iTTL.
If you want iTTL (which you should) then the Sigma EM140DG Ring Flash should be on sale very soon and it does support the D70 iTTL system.
Nikon is certainlynot recommended

That is a reason that I can understand. Do you have any idea when the Sigma will be available.

Glen - you watch too much TV
I do believe there was an instance on CSI where a young lady was using a D70 or it might have been the other one - with the lens cap on

As as I known, it's around Feb or March 05.
