PixSpot Registration ProcessHi Everyone
I have had a few messages from people who have advised they did not receive the registration email from PixSpot when they have created their image hosting account. I have investigated this, and I just wanted to let members know that I have made some changes - at the present time, members will not need to confirm/activate their account - it will be done automatically for them and they can post pics immediately. Once I am back in WA (1st January), I will have the integration finalised for the pixspot gallery to be available via the forum. This means that users can access the gallery without having to leave the forum. I also have one request from a member that was made some time ago about the image that is displayed for the user profile/album. This will be changed as per the request and I apologise for not doing so earlier. I have not actually finalised the design of the site/logo as yet (what you see at the moment is just to have the site up), so if there are any other changes or suggestions that anyone has, please let me know so that I can add them to my to do list and ensure that the gallery is great for our members. I am designing the gallery so that it will blend with the D70users forum when viewed from within the forum, and will be a separate design if visited from outside of the forum. For our newer members, or any other member who does not have somewhere to host their images, please accept my offer to create your free image hosting account at http://www.pixspot.com. Thanks everyone, and please take care over the holiday season. Cheers Kristine

I've just set up my first gallery on Pixspot and, while not SUPER user friendly I managed to muddle through. A great resource for all of us. Thanks heaps for making this facility available to members. Thanks EXTRA heaps for not charging Stubbsy
Hello Kristine,
I have setup my gallery in Pixspot, but at this stage not used it much. Things have been busy at work and with a few public holidays coming up, hopefully I will get to use my camera, and then transfer shots onto the gallery. In the meantime, thank you for your work and up date information. Have a good Christmas and all the very best for the New year. Cheers, fozzie
When people ask what equipment I use - I tell them my eyes.
Kristine,
Thanks a heap. I really appreciate it. I registered last night, not realising that you were behind it all. Registration went without a hitch using the email confirmation method. Christmas Cheers to all Matt
Kristine - I don't believe there's anything wrong with the signup process, it just takes a while for the confirm email to get thru. When I signed up many yonks ago, I had to wait about 5-10 mins. When Birddog signed up, while I was present, it was about 15-20 mins and we hadn't got the automated reply. Maybe it's just taken longer than expected for the confirmation email to get sent.
Anyway, thanks for creating the site, and hosting our images.
Hi Kristine
Thank you for your generous offer. I registered a while back but I only just created my first album. I had forgotten my password, the automated email system failed to send me the password, after a few tries I guessed it. I managed to upload 2 out of 3 files, no idea why. Probably just some hickup from my part. Thanks again. __________

thank youHi Kristine,
I'm joining the long line of satisfied D70ers and also say thank you Kristine. Regards Christian
Hi Kristine and many thanks for your excellent service.
Actually, at first, I was really frustrated until I worked out that Safari would not support my uploading so I switched to Explorer and all was well. Chris Chris

Thanks Kristine
I set up my account last month I think it was; I only got around to up loading images today. All went well; very easy to transfer images without all the stuffing around I’ve come across on other sites. Thanks again for your offer Cheers Ray :p >> All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism<<
.......and a BIG thankyou from Werewolf too! Easy to use once I got the hang of it! A breeze compared to dealing with certain idiots at Telstra when trying to set up my own web page!

Hi Kristine,
Thanks for the help so far and thanks for your generous offer of free picture hosting... I tried to find this via searching to no avail: What are the kb file size restrictions for individual photos? Also is there an overall Mb restriction for individual users? Cheers, John

I have been receiving a few emails regarding members having issues uploading their images. I have been responding to each email individually; if anyone is interested I (or another forum member) can write a small tutorial for our less experienced members on how to save/optimise your images for PixSpot as well as include information on how to upload etc.. There is a small FAQ on the site that is accessible by hovering your mouse over the "@" symbol on the menu bar.
Members have: * 30mb storage * 1mb allowance for each image * Images should be in JPEG format As most of your are aware, PixSpot is a work in progress and will be updated so that the site is more user friendly and easier to access items such as the help and FAQ section. PixSpot will also soon be ready for integration into the D70Users forum. HTH Cheers Kristine
