Tall ships to sail Sydney to Newcastle Jan 7-8For anyone interested in the photo op, the tall ships that have been in Sydney are sailing to Newcastle from Sydney on Friday. They leave Sydney Friday evening to arrive Newcastle for the following morning. Sorry about the skimpy details as I can't find out any more
Cheers Peter

Now - there's a real photo op
I'd love to get to Newcastle to see them coming in (would make for some really nice pics - better I think than from Sydney), but I can't. Make sure you get down there and show us! Thanks for the post - we should organise a trip up there sometime *** When getting there is half the fun! ***

Just found some more info at http://www.australianheritagefleet.com.au/cgi-bin/shopper.cgi?key=SE003&preadd=action
"Friday 7th January 2005: James Craig is once again making a special voyage to Newcastle. Boarding from Wharf 7, Pirrama Road, Pyrmont by 6.30 a.m. The ship cannot wait for late arrivals. She will arrive at the Old Tug Wharf on Wharf Road, Newcastle (300 m from Newcastle Train Station) at approximately 1700 hrs." and this at http://www.nsw.yachting.org.au "The tall ships will leave Sydney Harbour, on the evening of Friday 7th for an overnight cruise to Newcastle" Seems they're going in separate lots! Blimey, I bet Ellen McArthur wishes she had one of those tall ships - Sydney to Newcastle in a day! What time do you think they'll arrive, I'll get down on the quey side and wait for them
......what? Oh, Newcastle Australia? bugger I thought it was a bit too good to be true.
