Will My Lenses Be Ok On A D2X?Well I'm dangerously close to having the cash to get a D2X.
I'm still undecided weather to get the D200 or not (instead of the D2X) and it's basically a battle of the autofocus systems (for me). Anyway... Just looking for a little info on weather my current lenses will perform well on the D2X? I've heard it's very good at showing flaws in lenses... Nikkor: 18-70 f3.5-4.5 DX (My D70 Kit lens) Sigma 100-300 f4 HSM EX Sigma 180mm Macro Nikkor 500 AFS-I Also I plan to get the: Nikkor 12-24 f4 Could anyone with a D2X and any of these lenses comment on if they are good enough for the D2X? It's mainly the Sigma's I'd be concerned about I guess (compared to their Nikon competition) Thanks in advance Paul http://www.australiandigitalphotography.com

Paul of the lens which you mentioned I have and use two. The 18-70 kit lens, and the Sigma 180mm macro. I can say in complete honesty that they are very compatible with the D2x and I have yet to find any flaws with either.

NikonUser - can not see a problem with any of the lenses on the D2x including the yet to be purchased 12-24DX.
You would run into a problem with the Sigma's on a D200 though: http://www.sigmaphoto.com/news/news.asp?nID=3254 Last edited by fozzie on Fri Apr 14, 2006 4:43 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Thanks,
I know about the sigma thing with the D200. I'm not sure that I'd want to use the seperate buttons for Autofocus and Shutter release. I could aways get them re-chipped. I"m leaning very heavily on the side of the D2X at the moment anyway. I don't think D200's AF is as much of an upgrade to the D70's in low light... I seem to shoot a lot of low(ish) light birds and that's my main trouble with the D70. At double the price though the CAM2000 is a very expensive feature If I get the D2X that's the end of my camera (and other hobbys) expenses for at LEAST 12 months. A D200 would give me a little money to play with. Finances suck when you don't have enough of them Paul http://www.australiandigitalphotography.com

Paul,
No problems with the D2x on all the lenses you have. They'll perform perfectly as you wish. Birddog114
