PotW 18.04.06I chose this weeks PotW after thinking on a subject alluded to by Heath Bennet, the emotional content of images. Here is an image brimming with emotional content, both of the model and for the viewer.
A great shot by Ozimax, one could be nitpicky and point out a small hotspot on the forehead, but anyone who who has worked with children realises it is not just a matter of sitting them down, saying aim your head this way and smile. The original thread is here
Congrats Max,
despite the nits mentioned in the thread, I thought this was a great portrait. especially so as it is of an often difficult subject. Well done. Steve check out my image gallery @

Max - you have joined the POTW club with a wonderfully captured shot that makes one yearn for for those early years of life - well done.

Nice image! I bet the parents were over the moon.
Missed the original thread, so I'm glad this got POTW. Certainly deserves it. Well done! 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

Thankyou to all for the kind comments, I have been a tad undermotivated over the last few months (photography wise), but this forum has been just the encouragement I need to get back into things.
I find portraits quite difficult, but will keep on trying and learning. Thanks again, Max President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)

BTW, regarding the hotspot on Kezia's forehead, can any of the PS gurus out there suggest a good/easy/best method to remove same in PS? Any advice taken on board with thanks.

If it was my brother Darryn's forehead, no qualms about it, but Kezia is too cute for scalping (of course, she is related to her uncle which accounts for her stupendous looks ). Thanks Stubbsy. President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)

What a wonderfully bright & happy photo. All the recent POTW choices have been amazing, however I feel I relate to this one more than the others, and as such, would choose this to be the best so far in 2006 (from the one's I've seen anyway). Great work ! (and nice choice as well, Glen) In regards to the hotspot, you could try cloning part of the cheek OR the forehead (just above the hotspot) - using a very low opacity (5-10%). It might be a fiddly process but if it bothers you/the parents enough, it might be worth the effort. Dave
